Neurodiversity in the Classroom

Home Neurodiversity in the Classroom

"Neurodiversity describes the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits." (Baumer & Frueh, 2021)

Neurodiversity in the Classroom

The TLTC, UMD SIGNA (Social Interaction Group Network for All), and UMD SUCCEEDS (Students Understanding College Choices, Encouraging & Executing Decisions for Success) collaborated on a workshop called "Neurodiversity in the Classroom" in fall 2022. Learn about autism and ADHD, hear common characteristics of neurodivergent students, and learn from a panel of neurodivergent students.

Strategies to Support Neurodivergent Learners

The TLTC, UMD SIGNA (Social Interaction Group Network for All), and UMD SUCCEEDS (Students Understanding College Choices, Encouraging & Executing Decisions for Success) collaborated on a workshop called "Strategies to Support Neurodivergent Learners" in spring. Learn from neurodivergent students and experts about strategies you can use to support all types of learners in your classroom.
