Due to scheduled facilities work in ESJ, 0201 and 1103 will be unavailable through August 2026
The Teaching and Learning Transformation Center provides services to faculty and students in our two training spaces:
- Sharon L. Akers Training Room (ESJ-1103) room capacity 16
- TLTC Training Room (ESJ-0201) room capacity 60
Both facilities have moveable furniture, whiteboards, presenting, and web conferencing capabilities. While dedicated to providing pedagogical support for university faculty, academic coaching, and tutoring to UMD students, these facilities may have minimal availability for use by other campus groups serving University faculty and students.
- Requests for Monday usage may be made 3 months in advance (Council of Deans have priority)
- Requests for Tuesday through Friday usage may be made 6 weeks in advance*
- High demand periods ---prior to and toward the end of each fall and spring semester--- will result in restricted scheduling
*Preferred requesting status and increased flexibility may be earned for groups that 1.) are providing a service for faculty and/or student audiences and 2.) are consistently respectful of the space. Preferred status groups may request room usage for the upcoming semester 2 weeks prior to the start of the term. (Example, for fall 2025, scheduling may commence after August 15.)
