Mona develops and manages programs for undergraduate peer mentors and graduate student instructors. She runs the Academic Peer Mentoring Program (AMP), University Teaching & Learning Program (UTLP), and Graduate Student Teaching Orientations. She also develops and leads workshops and provides consultations to help instructors build their pedagogical skills. Mona cares deeply about growth mindsets, equitable education, and the value of play in learning.

Mona holds an Ed.M. in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Urban Studies from Stanford University. Prior to working at the University of Maryland, she consulted with faculty as an online and hybrid education learning designer, created and facilitated professional workshops on leadership skills and creative mindsets, and taught improv theater to students of all ages.

Mona loves talking about artificial intelligence, alternative grading, student engagement, growth mindset, and the arts in education. In addition to working with faculty, she manages programs for graduate student instructors and undergraduate learning assistants. You may want to book a consultation with her to talk about any of these areas.
