Mary has over 24 years of instructional design and coaching expertise from various contexts including higher education, K12, federal and non-profit agencies. Her design philosophy centers on a constructivist, learner-centered approach, leveraging technology where appropriate, while maintaining a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in course design and delivery.
In her role as Associate Director of Learning Experience at the TLTC she manages instructional designers and educational developers to coach others and create engaging, rigorous, and scalable learning opportunities. She is excited to be supporting innovation and reflective teaching practices in both face-to-face and online or blended courses at the University of Maryland.
