Courses and Collaborative Study Groups

On any given evening, the Math Success Program is prepared to help students with:

  • Algebra
  • Calculus 1,2, and 3
  • Modeling & Probability
  • Linear Algebra
  • Differential Equations
  • Mathematical Proof
  • Statistics

Our Math Coaches are able to help with other MATH, ECON, and BGMT courses but it is highly suggested that you contact the Math Success Program coordinator prior to attending the program to ensure a coach will be present.

Our priority is to assist students in introductory courses but we will do our best to help everyone that walks through our doors each night.

The Math Success Program is not a one-on-one tutoring program. On any given night, a visitor can expect to work with a coach and have one to four other students working with that coach at the same table. On busy nights before exams, that number could possibly go up.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at mathsuccess@umd.edu.

Collaborative Study Groups

In addition to our walk in Math Tutoring, we host Collaborative Study Groups (CSGs), which are supplemental instruction study sessions. These sessions are held during Math Success hours and are larger study groups in which students taking the same class are located in a separate room to work on that subject. The sessions are led by CSG Leaders who are trained to facilitate discussion and learning with a larger group of students. Here students can work together to work through challenging problems, develop their math skills, and build confidence in their abilities.
