In her role as a Learning Skills Specialist, Yvette Motley facilitates academic coaching with students from a strength-based approach in support of their academic skill building and habits of being, including but not limited to time management, study skills, mindfulness, and writing. Through collaborative partnerships with various units, her role extends to developing and administering a diverse range of programming such as workshops, learning communities, and online training, all designed to cultivate students’ awareness and application of evidence-based learning strategies.

Dr. Motley earned her Ed.D. in Advanced Educational Leadership from Regent University and M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, with an Administration I Certification from McDaniel College. She brings over 20 years of experience in K-12 public and private education in a variety of instructional and administrative roles. Through her professional journey, she dedicated her expertise to empowering students to be active partners in their learning process. As a local school district and state trainer in formative assessment and restorative practices, she facilitated professional learning opportunities that inspired educators to embrace the importance of cultivating a culture of collaboration and reflective practices that foster a sense of belonging and success for students.

One essential part of being an educator is her value of self-care and making it a priority. Yvette loves to travel and engage in recreational activities with family while also finding time to enjoy the quiet with a good book.
