Mary has over 24 years of instructional design and educational development expertise from various contexts including higher education, PK12, federal, and not-for-profit agencies. Her design philosophy centers on a constructivist, learner-centered approach, leveraging technology where appropriate, while maintaining a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in course design and delivery.
In her role as the Director of Teaching Innovation in the TLTC, she leads a team of experts in pedagogy and technology who coach others to create inclusive, engaging, and rigorous, learning opportunities. She is excited to be supporting innovation and reflective teaching practices across all modalities within the University of Maryland.
