Marcio Oliveira

Marcio A. Oliveira is the Assistant Vice President of the Teaching and Learning Transformation Center & Academic Technology and Innovation at the University of Maryland (UMD). In this role, he provides strategic leadership and vision for developing and executing integrated, comprehensive strategies that promote excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and scholarly activities. His responsibilities span the Division of Information Technology (DIT) and the Division of Academic Affairs, with direct reporting lines to the Senior Vice President and Provost, the Vice President, and the Chief Information Officer. Dr. Oliveira fosters effective, engaging, efficient, and equitable teaching and learning, guiding the institution’s strategic vision, pace, and priorities. His work includes implementing innovative, technology-enhanced pedagogical practices, creating collaborative learning environments, and promoting educational innovation and experiential learning. The leadership of these combined efforts aims to enhance student success and academic excellence at UMD.
