ESJ 0201

Group work is an effective method to help students develop communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills, and increase active learning. However, without proper structuring and facilitation, group work can frustrate students and instructors. During this session, we will share techniques to help you implement successful and equitable group work in your classroom. Topics include: evidence-based strategies for appropriate and effective uses of group work, best-practices for arranging student groups, how to set expectations and ground-rules for group work, methods for fairly evaluating a completed group assignment, and group work tools in ELMS/Canvas.
